About the event

Join Kings River Conservancy for our next “Get Curious on the Kings” adventure with an Archaeology Hike!  The hike will begin at the Kings River Conservation District Public Fishing Access Area, on Saturday, April 29 at 10:00 a.m. and will last about 90 minutes.   Jay Lloyd, a Kings River Conservancy board member and archaeologist, will lead a hike discussing the precontact and historic-era background of the lower Kings River.  Participants can expect to hike a single-track dirt trail of moderate difficulty.  We suggest wearing appropriate footwear for hiking and bringing water and snacks. The event is free and the public is welcome to attend. No reservations are needed to join the hike.

The KRCD Public Fishing Access is just past Choinumni Park is 33 miles east of Fresno on Pine Flat Road. Take Highway 180 east to Piedra Road, turn left on Piedra Road and drive 8.2 miles to Trimmer Springs Road. Turn right on Trimmer Springs Road and drive one mile to Pine Flat Road. The Public Fishing Access is just past the entrance to Choinumni Park, 26501 Pine Flat Road Piedra, CA 93649.

We will email you if this hike is cancelled.  Water levels are very elevated and might impact the stability and safety of the trail.
