EDUCATION ASSISTANT POSITION DESCRIPTION

This is a part-time position with varying work schedule dependent on scheduled educational
programming at $25/hr.
Working closely under the Education Director, this individual will have the following
responsibilities:
Participate in outreach, community engagement, and educational programming
Assist with monthly and summer camp Get Outdoors! programming: monthly
family-friendly Saturday events throughout the school year and summer day camp
programs for youth ages 8-16 along the Kings River
Assist with and/or lead School Field Trips: 4-hour field trips for 1st-5th grade classrooms
and other specialty field trips as requested
This position will also assist with other general education and public outreach events as needed.
Desired qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in environmental
sciences, parks/recreation, or related fields preferred.
Experience working with children from elementary-high school age ranges
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Other requirements:
Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
Must be able to work some weekends and evenings as needed
While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to stand; walk; sit; use
hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop,
kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear; carry up to 40 lbs; and work outdoors in varying
conditions and on uneven ground
